Class Descriptions
Ages in descriptions are a general window. Level placement is based on skill/technique rather than age and is evaluated by our staff.
Please note that the minimum number of students to open a class for the school semesters is 4. Class will be cancelled and a refund will be issued if registration numbers do not meet the requirement.
Bitty Ballet/Creative Movement
Ages 3-5
Your child will discover their inner dancer in this creative movement class. They will be guided through basic yet fun exercises, incorporating basic ballet technique, positions, and posture which will develop not only their motor skills but their imagination, story telling through movement, and love for music and dance!
Classes are 50 minutes, once a week for the summer. (Classes may increase for the fall semester

Pre Primary
Age 5-7
In this class, dancers will start to focus on basic ballet technique, positions, and posture while still engaging them through creativity. They will learn to coordinate ballet movements with music, structure, and imagination.
Classes are 50 minutes, once a week for the summer. (Classes may increase for the fall semester)
This class group will be dissolved into the Bitty Ballet or Primary Levels for the school semesters.

Primary
Age 6-9
In this class, dancers will build on their basic ballet knowledge and apply ballet terminology to their understanding of the movements. They will incorporate jumps and turns and learn to express their creativity through their technique.
Classes are 50 minutes, once or twice a week depending on your enrollment choice.

Novice I
Ages 7-10
Dancers will broaden their ballet technique by learning more complicated steps and combinations. They will learn to coordinate new steps and move across the floor, as well as focus on musicality, choreography, and building artistry.
At this level, students may additionally learn jazz and contemporary styles of dance to broaden their imagination, coordination and performance qualities.
Ballet Classes are 50 minutes, once a week.
Lyrical/Jazz Classes are 50 minutes each, once a week.
For the summer sessions, Lyrical will not be offered.
This class will be dissolved into the Primary or Novice II (newly named as Novice) Levels for the school semesters.

Novice II
Ages 10-13
This class is for tween/early teen dancers who are just beginning their dance journey. They will learn the basics of ballet technique, movement coordination, choreography, and musicality.
At this level, students may additionally learn jazz and contemporary styles of dance to broaden their imagination, coordination and performance qualities.
Ballet Classes are 50 minutes, once a week.
Lyrical/Jazz Classes are 50 minutes each, once a week.
For the summer sessions, Lyrical will not be offered.

Intermediate I
(by placement)
Dancers will start to learn more complex steps involving pirouettes and allegro jumps. They will focus on growing in their ballet technique and performance artistry which will simultaneously build their stamina and endurance.
At this level, students may additionally take contemporary or jazz dance classes, challenging them to move with new dynamics, floor work, and performance artistry. (Tap will not be offered at this level)
Ballet Classes are 1 hour and 30 min, twice a week
Contemporary and/or Jazz classes are 1 hour each, once a week

Intermediate II
(by placement)
Dancers will focus on their technique and artistry as well as begin to build their understanding of dance history and work on ballet repertoire. Female dancers will prepare specifically to strengthen their muscles for pointe work and male dancers will work on strengthening and coordination needed for partnering.
In the supplementary classes offered, students may continue to develop their contemporary and/or jazz techniques to express their artistry through different styles.
Ballet Classes are 1 hour and 30 min, twice a week
Contemporary and/or Jazz classes are 1 hour each, once a week (you may choose one or both to enroll in for the semester)

Advanced
(by placement)
Dancers will work on their technique both in flat shoes as well as pointe shoes and partnering. They will learn to advance in their ballet terminology and movements such as multiple pirouettes and complex jumps. Dancers will focus on refining their performance artistry and continuing to learn ballet history and repertoire.
If experienced through previous levels, students will continue to develop their contemporary technique. Students will also have the option to broaden their knowledge of classical ballet repertoire through a variations class where they will work on solos from different classical ballets. (At this time, Variations class can only be offered to female dancers. Male Variations may be requested in a private/semi-private coaching session.)
Ballet Classes are 1 hour and 30 min, twice a week
Contemporary and/or Variations classes are 50min - 1 hour each, once a week (you may choose one or both to enroll in for the semester)

Private Ballet Coaching
Ages 11-18
Available upon request. Cannot be guaranteed as spots are limited.
Dress Code
Dress code for the school semester will differ depending on the level of the student. Uniform leotards/shirts will be in different colors for each level and will be available for purchase in person at the studio.
For the Summer Sessions, girls are required to dress in a black or pink leotard of choice with pink tights and boys in a black or white ballet t-shirt with black shorts/tights.
Please do not purchase any uniform for the school semester until level placement of the student is confirmed with the staff. Until confirmation, student may wear a black leotard (girls) or black/white shirt (boys).
